16 little ducks went swimming along.

Back from London on an earlier train than expected -hooray!

I got the message that 'the duck is back and she's hatched lots of ducklings'.When we got there we could see that there were 16, all sheltered under the mother.

The remarkable thing about all of this is that the pond is in the centre of a church and, as such, is surrounded by walls. The members of the congregation have to bring food and a rota is set up to ensure that the brood is kept well fed. The measure that people go to in looking after the ducklings is extraordinary (and wholly understandable) and there are ramps leading into and out of the water and a hutch for shelter.

That duck has everyone wrapped round it's little finger wing.
