Dorney Court

We have visited this grade 2 listed Tudor house from 1440. Situated in Dorney village in South Buckinghamshire close to the Thames. A fascinating house, much altered and developed over the centuries. One unique feature is that it has been owned and lived in by generations of the Palmer family. Another unusual feature is that the family have been able to maintain the property through a series of entrepreneurial activities thereby avoiding grant aid or takeover by a charitable organisation. The guide was excellent and the garden centre cafe completed a very “hot” visit.
