Missing from the garden this year:
 
wasps
moths
green fly
dragonfly
caterpillars
grey squirrels
 
Reduced numbers:
butterflies
 
As plentiful as ever:
snails,
slugs
magpies
 
What this reveals is that insects, bottom of the food chain, are diminishing rapidly and the spin off from this will be felt amongst the bird population and small mammals.
