movers and shakers

so....a very busy day! Only time for a quick coffee before Sarah, Chris and I were off to Castle Douglas to fetch the glasses, crockery and cutlery for the wedding. Once we were back and it was all unpacked, we made several trips to the local village hall for chairs and tables. Meanwhile, kind Archie was putting up a row of gazebos in the garden. We had thought they might be useful if it rained...but now they will be providing protection against the sun!

After lunch I spent some time with Mum and Dad who were visiting us for the day, and then it was time to fetch Luke and Otter from Lockerbie :-)

This evening we have spent a LONG time putting up 100m of fairy lights around the kitchen and then Sarah and Chris were planting their special wedding tree - by this time there was just enough light to see by, but suddenly we were illuminated by the headlights of a taxi coming up the drive - Maddy had arrived! She has travelled all the way from Amsterdam.

It must be time for bed soon - I'm bivvying out tonight as it's the night of the full moon and also the peak of the Perseid meteor shower (the first not so good for viewing the second). Not much chance of being rained on!
