Beside the river between Whitecraig and Musselburgh some fairly rare Keeled Garlic plants (Allium Carinatum) can be seen in midsummer. The plant looks rather untidy with the bracts which once enclosed the flower buds hanging like grass below the little purple flowers which droop on long stalks. 
Extra The second dragonfly this year which has remained still enough for a photo.
