34 degrees Celsius

When I left work this afternoon, fortunately a good breeze from the north and east made it feel a little less stifling.
The sight of the “sturgeon moon”, (so named by Native American fishing tribes due to the abundance of the fish at this time of year) during the night was impressive. I later read that the National space centre didn’t classify it as a true “super moon”, as it was not close enough to Earth, being just 1,408 km further away than their “unofficial” definition of 360,000 km.
A walk around our drought torn garden at 05:45 any (officially a statistic here now and some other areas of the UK) didn’t produce much inspiration for a photo other than the myrtle bush producing some lovely scented flowers again.
I watched the sun rise over Exmoor during my journey to work and stopped to capture the view as it cast it’s golden fingers across north Devon.
A 30 minute 4 mile run on the Tarka trail after work revealed a very low tide and some lovely sightings and sounds of foraging birds on the estuary. A combine harvester drowned out some of the bird noise (no doubt made louder by the presence of mr fox) as it collected the ripened wheat from beside the disused railway line.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
