UWC (Aug 14th - mixed up dates)

We woke up this morning in our guest house in Metchosin, after arriving in the pitch dark last night. It was a beautiful spot with a gorgeous garden, chickens and a very nice dog (Afghan). Our airbnb host took pity on us not having a car and offered to drive us the short distance to Pearson College. We walked into Metchosin, ate a very quick brunch and then walked back to meet the host at the appointed time for our ride. We got to UWC at around 11, having already walked our 10K steps for the day. 

J is very happily reconnecting with people he has known for 40 years at his reunion and I am enjoying putting faces to names, reconnecting as well, and meeting lots of new people. The school's campus is truly stunning. This photo was taken from the meditation room... a newer building, according to J. The architecture is typical of UWC and the views are incredible. 

(Somehow in the time changes and late nights I posted an entry to the wrong date... there is probably a better way to fix this, but to keep things easy I decided to simply go back and post for today on the "skipped" date. The actual date today is August 14th.)
