Standing to attention

We’ve had the heater on all day today, as it’s been a cold, bleak day.  I had the usual Monday morning work to do and hubby spent some time with my 93-year-old uncle helping him with his iPad.  After hot soup for lunch we popped over to Mum’s with her clean washing and stayed to chat for a short while before going for a walk in a persistent drizzle.

While out walking I saw these unusual plants standing in a row behind a fence.  According to Mr Google they’re Beschorneria Yuccoides, or Mexican Lily. They’re rather attractive in their own weird way.

There are 3,387 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 4,230 compared to 5,288 last Monday. The number of people in hospital is 536, including 13 in ICU. The seven-day rolling average increase in total deaths attributable to Covid-19 is 14 and 1,750 deaths have been confirmed as either directly attributed to Covid, or with Covid as a contributing factor.
