Just chilling

The music outside our windows didn’t stop till 1 a.m. (see yesterday’s blip) so no-one was in a hurry to get up. Mystère was so alarmed by goings on inside and outside the house that he spent the night in close contact with me, curled up on the bed. By the time we’d packed and were ready to leave this morning, he was hiding under the stairs in the store room, rather than risk coming into contact with small Tommy. I expect he will reach some accommodation.

It was a familiar but long drive to Bordes de Graus. Just as we arrived in Tavascan, it started to spit with rain — what a pleasure after the excess heat of the last two months! We went to the tourist office and then needed to wait 15 minutes for the shop to open, so we sat and had a beer.

At Bordes de Graus by six, chat with G and A, traditional G&Ts in the bar, and then dinner of delicious boeuf bourgignon, prepared some months earlier by S and then frozen, followed by French cheese, and a pear, honey, and thyme upside down cake made by me. Earlyish night, we are all tired!
