Windfalls

The red apple tree in the garden ( variety unknown ) has hundreds of apples as usual.
They are smaller this year because of the low rainfall.
In the second week in August the windfall season begins. Every morning up to 20 apples can be found on the ground.

And so it becomes part of my daily routine. After breakfast and tai chi I go out with a bucket to pick up the latest fall before the wasps get them.

Then it is over to Mrs. K. Who peels them, cooks them and freezes them. Now for several months stewed apple will be added to the Yoghurt and Oat cereal for breakfast every day.

Delicious.
