A tram trip

Search aisles, scan and pack.
Buy tickets, bustling carriage.
Crane necks to see rooves.

Early start and some grumpiness.  It's been a day that's flipped between positive fun and trickiness.  After initial wobble, Ben and I went to Sainsburys to do a big shop.  We wrote a list that was categorised into different sections of the shop and we used the smart shop app to scan things as we went along, so that we didn't have to queue at the checkouts.  Ben had a blast, finding everything and scanning it all.  I was impressed with his concentration :-) Once we (I) had unpacked everything we set off for the main event of the day which was a tram ride into Manchester and lunch at Starbucks.  I had intended to go and visit the new Castlefield Viaduct park but found out last night that it is tickets only and they are sold out :-( So Ben was in the pound seats, he got the tram and lunch without having to walk around a 'boring garden'. Sigh.  In fairness, I was thinking about it and that was actually the optimum amount of activity for him.  It would probably feel like it wasn't worth doing to most people but he loves the tram, the predictability of the next stops, the exciting whoosh as one goes past on the other side of the track... then coffee chains (which might not be my favourite) are perfect for offering familiarity.  We had a bit of walk around St Peter's Square, the Library and up to Bridgewater Hall to see the big pebble (Ben decided it's named Joe!?) and then home.
Home was more problematic, a few things didn't go as planned which caused drama but we seem to be settling to teatime now, so fingers crossed.
Photo is the passageway between the Town Hall extension and the Central Library.  I do love the buildings in Manchester :-)
