Arthur

A much cooler day in Liverpool today, something for which all this household is exceedingly grateful. Mom and I went for a long walk in Calderstones Park. There’s always something new to see. We normally always check in on progress at the new nature reserve and the model railway, buried away close together in a little corner of the park.

Today was extra special because we met Arthur who very kindly gave us a VIP behind-the-scenes tour of the site, and told us lots of great stories. Mom remembers it from my childhood (me not so much). It’s had a chequered history, including two unfortunate lockdown fires, but is now back up and running. All the trains and track are made on site, and train rides are available most Sundays from 2pm.

Thank you Merseyside Live Steam and Model Engineers.
