Spain, Day 10, Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

Back to Madrid today. After our relaxed 10 days in the Pyrenees it is always a jolt to the system to return to the city but we got to our rental apartment at a good time and handing over the hire car unscathed is always a relief even with the extra insurance.

Madrid was baking and when we turned up at our delightfully eclectic apartment that was also baking hot so we turned the AC on pretty quickly.

One great thing about Madrid though is a massive selection of excellent craft beer venues so I got my enormous Madrid Google map up and made a few choices.

Just down the road is the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu the home of Real Madrid. It is currently undergoing a long and very late running refurbishment.  Not many people were thankfully working on it when we wandered past at 8pm but the late sun gave the whole stadium a nice glow.
