The Giant Hedgehog

Life came full circle today as Euan encountered the Giant Hedgehog at Sudeley Castle.  When our girls were young, a favourite tv programme was, ‘The Bunny Picnic’ which included a story about a Giant Hedgehog.  At Sudeley, Lady
AshCombe has developed ‘Coexistence’, a number of superb animal sculptures around the grounds made out of natural materials.  The highlight is a series of full sized elephants fashioned from reeds by artisans in a province of India who use them to raise the profile of elephants to local people.

Euan had a great time playing a lion chasing us through huge yew hedges and discovering the different animals.  We lunched in the adventure playground which featured a huge three storey wooden castle complete with ladders and slides.  The day was completed with us wandering the maze to find Mrs Ladybird’s house and then it was back to the holiday cottage.

Grandad Tony was in charge in the evening as Becky and Rob were treating me to a very special meal at The Slaughters Manor House.  What a fabulous evening we had! I was introduced to amuse bouche and tasted delicious foods reminiscent of the Professionals Masterchef. A huge thank you to them both for a very special time.
