Verbena rigia

Planted in our back garden earlier this year, this Verbena rigida almost died in the drought and the extreme heat of July. Cut back to living tissue and transferred to a pot (with plenty of vermiculite in the potting mix), it thankfully revived, and is now putting on a second flush of flowers in our front garden - seen here above the flowers of Rudbeckia 'Enchanted Glow' that featured here on Sunday.
