Cross of Thorns and Beauty

Went up the Land again this afternoon, and the asparagus is bursting out everywhere - these tiny blooms - see the red stamens? - are less than a cm across. Think they're earlier than other years, but not by much, and again, amazed that they flower before any hint of rain.

Gratefuls:
- made pesto with loads of our basil, and cashew nuts, but not made a dent in the basil supply, which obviously likes the heat
- got some computer work done
- ate more figs, with a glass of Port, for dessert
