Cowslips

I love spring flowers best; such beacons of hope and promise after months of brown, grey and occasional thick white garden domination. For me, the queens of spring flowers are cowslips. I feel honoured they have chosen to arrive and set up home in our gravel path, and despite being trodden on and hen-pecked, they have flourished and multiplied. Long may they reign.
