All grown up

The cygnets are about as big as their parents now and, despite the fact they don’t have nice white feathers, were looking quite elegant today. They certainly look past the ugly duckling stage. The stateliness is rather spoilt though when they go slightly adrift and call out to their parents in little baby peeps.

I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon to spot a couple of baby moorhens with their mother. I was beginning to think there were no other young offspring in the pond this year. (See extra)
