On The Moors

I love to visit the moors when the heather is out.  We usually go each August but some years it is not out and other years it is passed its best but this year we timed it to perfection.  

These are the moors above Castleside in County Durham - about 18 miles from where we live.  It is always blustery on the moors and today was no exception but we enjoyed our walk and even had part of our picnic sitting on a seat.  Eventually we went back to the car and finished the rest of it off when it got a bit too windy.
