Hips

The roses in the 'yard really didn't appreciate being left for almost a week without water during a heatwave, and there are very few flowers left now. Lots of hips beginning to redden on the hardy little Rosa glauca bush, but many of the others have withered and died. Maybe, with some TLC and lots of water, there'll be a few more flowers yet.

Post-holiday lethargy seems to have kicked in, and it was difficult to get going this morning. But managed to tick off several items on the perpetual 'to do' list, and nipped out a couple of times, once for our repeat prescriptions, and later to post a birthday card.

Having failed to find a pair of walking boots to fit in local outdoor shops or, more recently, in Yorkshire, I ordered some online a couple of days ago. They arrived with this morning's post, and was I hoping to go for a walk this evening to try them out. But, for some reason best known to itself, my left foot was very painful on weight bearing for most of today, so it didn't seem a good idea to venture far! Hoping that it's better tomorrow!

A relaxing evening with MrM - a couple of glasses of wine, and an episode of Shetland.
