Peacock butterfly at Ardinning

A grey, damp morning followed by a beautiful sunny, breezy afternoon.
After much deliberation we went for a walk at Loch Ardinning Nature Reserve which is a short drive from where we live and turned out to be the perfect choice for the weather today. There were many peacock butterflies on the wild scabious, the violet colour on their wings matches the flower so well. Lots of common darter dragonflies (in extra) and common blue  damselflies (no decent shots). To cap it off there were swallows swooping and diving across the grassland, lovely to watch, hard to capture!
