Just a hill
Dufton Pike is one of a series of conical hills along the escarpment of the North Pennines. It is made of slates and volcanic rocks, the oldest rocks in the North Pennines. The Pike dominates our village and it is relatively easy to walk up it and around it.
Why have I blipped it today? After all it's just a hill and one I see every day. I can even see it from my window. Well, it has been a lovely day and I liked the way the sun was catching the edge of the slopes and also the shadows of the trees and clouds. It also shows how green everything is at the moment. Not many leaves as yet, but the grass is very green . . .
. . . and it might be quite significant tomorrow!
