Being silly

And she's off to start her second year. Here's Isabelle, after she accidentally splashed water all over herself, posing at her desk. She had a late afternoon move-in scheduled, so we unpacked quickly, zipped across town to pick up some other things we'd stashed at a friend's house last week, and ate dinner at the nearby, very hopping, dining hall. In the corner there was a piano with kids pounding out theme music from "Attack on Titan." By the time someone tried a Chopin etude the audience, naturally enough, melted away. 

The Blue Ridge was very very blue all the drive down, under picturesque puffy clouds. When W and I drove home, it was black night with a lingering ribbon of light in the west. 

We'll miss her for sure. And next Saturday will be momentous as we drive D up to Ohio. Hope you're all having a good weekend.
