Party lights on...

...on the farm where we sold our cattle almost eight years ago. During the two years with the Covid restrictions they had piled up a bunch of reasons to party, among them two of their cows reaching 100 tons production, so they decorated their new dry cow shed for the party and invited friends to visit. One of the cows was Irja, one of those we sold them back then. They also had great news, another cow has just reached 100 tons. She's called Kukka, also one of ours, but left already the year before as a calf. So we were guests of honour, sort of!

In the morning lots of birds in the air again. For the second time, I saw a flock of large birds, eight or nine of them, quite far, but easy to see that they were not the harriers. Got some shots of them and recognized them as ravens. Must be a family, as they don't usually like company. Then the harriers had a little air show, a collage of shots in the extra.

The weather was hot again ("just" +27°C though), but a little drier and very windy, so it didn't feel that hot. A good harvest day for some, but not for us, so we had time for the party. Now it looks like we'll get a combine on our fields next week. Some other farmers at the party said the crops are not quite ripe enough yet, but I think ours are. Maybe we have earlier varieties or something with the conditions after seeding is different.
