Wall brown

Howe Ridding again! We had the butterfly transects to walk but the real purpose was blackberries! They were warm and ripe and falling off in our hands! We gathered around 10 pounds and these will gradually be made into a variety of delicious jams.
But also, we spotted the wall brown, an increasingly scarce butterfly of grasslands. It’s the first I have seen this year so it was good to add it to the count.
