Wildwood

Survived our first night sleeping in a campervan. Seemed to go ok. We had a couple of other vans for neighbours but as it was raining there wasn’t much going on outside!
Left to head to Carrefran wildwood a few miles along the road. This is a ‘rewinding’ project that has been on the go for maybe 20 years and the benefits are showing. So nice to see a mix of native trees and shrubs compared to the regimented forestry around the rest of the area. It will look great in 100 years.
For contrast we then dropped on at Dawyck gardens which is full of amazing trees collected back in the days of the Victorian plant hunters - notably David Douglas. plenty of his firs on show.
