Here we go!

A good start to the harvest, and the winter wheat yield was good. Got two very full loads of it and two not quite as full loads of barley from a similar area. That was no surprise as the first barley field didn't look very good and we just got started on the other one.

Moisture was higher than I hoped for, especially with the wheat. Good to get it harvested anyway, even with the current fuel prices, as the weather forecasts vary, so there's no guarantee there would have been many chances, if it was delayed.

A rainy night ahead, so tomorrow wouldn't be harvest day anyway, but drying today's loads will keep me busy anyway. Actually the owner of the combine will probably use next two good days harvesting his own, so we'll see perhaps on Saturday.
