Gee

Today, a visit to Google NZ with a client (a startup).

Google NZ moved into its new Wynyard Quarter offices last year.

As you’d expect there is some cool stuff, like this wooden Google logo in reception. And the audio-visual ceilings (outside our meeting room we look up and we are looking up from the bottom of the ocean). But, on the whole, the place is stylish but restrained.

I have been working with (and have worked for) search engines for over 25 years now (I started before there was a Google). It’s been a wild ride, but Web 1.0 was more fun than Web 2.0 (and not just because I was younger then). Now we’re getting Web 3.0.
