I am a Fern lover.

Ferns are rather special.
Perhaps my enthusiasm for them stems in part from the fact that there are 26 different species to be found in less than anhours walk from my front door.

This one is Hard Shield Fern. One of the more common species.
We have a number of much less common ones. Examples are Oak Fern, Marsh Fern, Moonwort and Maidenhair Fern.

Ferns are unusual in the plant world. They have no flowers and no seeds. They reproduce from spores. They are also ancient with fossils from 360 million years ago.

P.S. can you find the Lords and Ladies in the picture ?
