Coos in the Heather

I am still thinking about heather and thought I would dig out an old photo from 2011 when I spent a month on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.  The purple heather on the hills was so beautiful.  These old, abandoned stone crofts are common on the islands, a reminder of a distant past.  The red coos made a lovely accent in the photograph.  I know it has only been a couple of months since I returned from Scotland but I miss it already.  I haven't been in August for a long time, when the heather blooms.  I hope next year I will be going back to see the heather again.
