Family get together

Headed to Aberdeen after dropping Phin at daycare as we were meeting family for dinner. We tried to stop at the Stracathro truck stop for some soup but they’re currently closed at weekends due to lack of staff. The petrol station was open and we got some sandwiches though we declined the choice of a roll with mince!

We made it to Mr PHL’s sister’s new house in Peterculter in good time and spent a couple of hours catching up with all of Mr PHL’s siblings and their partners. The new house is in a retirement community and looks very nice but not sure I’d be happy living so close to my neighbours as all the grounds are communal.

Headed to our hotel to get ready for our dinner reservation at the Garlogie Inn. We stayed at the Cults Hotel and our second room was a good choice. The first room up in the eaves was a little cramped and if I’m honest, not the cleanest so Mr PHL sorted it with reception.

Dinner was lovely. Young Mr PHL and his fiancé drive up to join us, it was a good opportunity for A to meet the relatives she hadn’t seen before.
