Chiffchaffs In The Elderberry Bushes

Thunder, lightning and heavy rain overnight followed by steady rain all morning right up to lunchtime. I'm pleased to say that the lake beaches formed in the drought which I was worried about are now under water.

The elderberries are perfectly ripe. Lots of birds love them but so far I haven't seen many eating them yet. I spotted the juvenile chiffchaff in a bush down the field and the other chiffchaff in one which grows over the northerly Nissen hut. These birds don't eat the berries but hunt for tiny insects amongst the fruit.
