La vida de Annie

John Lennon peace memorial...

...one of the Liverpool sights friend S hasn't seen before in her home city. Being off work with her injury means there's some time to enjoy other things, so today I took her for a delicious lunch at The Brink in Parr Street, where we took a look at the Invisible Disabilities exhibition promoted by Neurosupport. As her job puts her in contact with a lot of young people with disabilities, she found it quite moving. Down to Albert Dock for a ride on the big wheel followed, and though the high winds caused the gondolas to rock a little, the sunny clear day meant wonderful views of the city and river from on high. A little window shopping of expensive hippie clothes, budget purchases of walking poles (we're both unsteady old ladies now) and silly summer hats, a cuppa in M&S while resolutely ignoring the sale on in there, and back home in my car, both of us exhausted but happy. Note to self: I must go back to Monsoon and try on that special dress we both agreed would be ideal for an occasion I'd like to wear it for.
