First Nations Bunkhouse

During the fishing cannery era, here on the west coast of BC, the worker’s  were housed in segregated quarters.  This was the bunkhouse for indigenous men.  Nearby is the Chinese bunkhouse. Married men often were able to secure small houses along and nearby ‘cannery row’.
Recently, during our maritime festival, new artwork has been added along the fence by the remains of this old bunkhouse.
