Z is for Zinnia 
and a whole lot of other Z words  Who knew there were so many?  Zzzzz is also the sound you might be making if you read through to the end of the prose to follow.  But it is kinda interesting.

A short-lived electrically neutral elementary particle
considered to mediate the weak interaction

Zabaglione - a dessert made of egg yolks,
sugar, and Marsala wine.
Zaffer - an impure form of cobalt oxide that is added to
glass and ceramics to make them Blue.

Zaftig - with a full-figured body.
Zag - a direction the opposite of Zig!
Zaibatsu - a Japanese industrial combine.

Zaikai - business and financial community of Japan.
Zaire - former name for Congo.
Zakat - an obligatory Muslim tax that goes to charity,
2.5 percent of annual income and capital.

Zakuski - Russian blinis and breads with savory toppings,
especially caviar - served with Vodka.
Zamboni - trademark for ice resurfacing machine.
Zamia - a small tropical tree similar to palm.

Zamindar - collector of property taxes in Mogul India.
Zanana - area reserved for women in trains and railroad
stations in southern Asia.
NOTE: Rhyming word for Banana or Cabana!

Zander - European freshwater fish in Perch family.
Zandoli - Caribbean largish brown and green Lizard.
Zany - entertainingly strange or amusingly unusual.

Zap - to kill or finish off with sudden force!
Zapata mustache - thick one curving around edges of mouth.
Viva Zapata!
Zapateado - Spanish Dance.

Zapotec - Native Central American people,
most live in Oaxaca, Mexico now.
Zapper - a device that attracts and electrocutes insects.
Zappy - lively and forcefully impressive.

Zaratite - amorphous green mineral consisting of
hydrated nickel carbonate.
Zareba - a North African outdoor enclosure,
especially one made of thorn bushes.

Zarf - metal frame for holding a cup,
used in the Middle East.
Zari - South Asian gold brocade clothing decoration.
Zarzuela - Spanish musical theater, usually comic.

Zax - tool similar to a hatchet used for
cutting and shaping slate.
Zayin - seventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Zazen - form of meditation in Zen.
