Paladian

Ouch!!

Poor little spider. He was careering all over the brick path trying to avoid my camera, and he suddenly stopped and put his foot in his mouth. I think he stubbed his toe. He looked so cute.

Throbbing toe

I'm fairly sure this is a juvenile huntsman spider (Sparassidae sp). The outdoors ones are generally pale, and darken as they grow up. There are more than a 1,000 species distributed world wide, including of course Australia. I do think this is rather prettier than the common or garden brown huntsman.
