citeh!

Zeke’s pal at school invited us to join him at Manchester City’s Tunnel Club for the afternoon. Oh. My. Word. This is how the other half watch football! We were on the blue carpet when the team coach pulled up and the kids got high fives from Pep and all his players. Later, we went on the pitch when they warmed up. And somehow we had a 5 course meal amidst all of this - at a table next to the tunnel. The tunnel has a glass wall, mirrored on the other side so we could see the players but they couldn’t see us. It was somewhat awkward when one of the rival team’s players stood next to the mirror right opposite us and spent a long time rearranging the contents of his shorts. Zeke was beside himself with giggles. So was I to be fair!

At half time, drinks and snacks were waiting for us and at full time there were yet more drinks and a cheeseboard! Our seats were heated (not that heating was required but I was nonetheless impressed) and City won 4-2. I might become a football fan again…. but probably only on occasions such as these.
