Little Mere at Combermere

A bit catch up job today because yesterday turned into a bit of an epic.

We were working at Combermere near Whitchurch which is a beautiful place to be. An old Lord of the Manor didn't like running water on his land so all the streams were culverted, now, a lot of years later and these long tunnels are beginning to collapse in places so one of the things we were there to do is spot the holes in the ground and coordinate them.

This is not the main lake but a smaller one known as Little Mere. Just behind me is an eel trap something else we surveyed, a lovely and interesting structure but not as pleasing to the eye as the island and it reflection
