Spent the afternoon on the Common watching a re-enactment of the Battle of Newport Pagnell (1643).  Cannons, muskets, horses and foot soldiers.

It was extremely well done and a reminder - as if we should need reminding - that war is noisy, confusing and scary.

It wasn't all doom and gloom though (see extras).
