I noticed this Common Toadflax (Linaria vulgaris) flower growing in some tall grass near my sister’s front porch, so I snapped an image while I had the chance. It is becoming difficult, but not impossible, to find wildflowers here.
A line of severe thunderstorms went through the area this evening, and my sister’s house lost power. According to the electric company, there are more than 380,000 customers without power tonight. I saw many trees down during my drive home, and there are reports of widespread damage caused by the high winds. I was lucky. I still have power, and there are only a few fallen tree branches in my yard.
