Wood anenomes

Today we walked a new damsel and dragonfly transect survey route for the first time. We have two new recorders so should be able to cover the whole season. Unfortunately there are still no signs of any damselflies, plenty of wood anenomes though and the bluebells are about to burst out in the next day or so. Two firsts today: I heard my first cuckoo of the year in the morning and in the afternoon saw my first slow worm of the year - basking on one of our reptile tins.
