Good day, mostly.
Almost acceptance of a paper: “Notice of acceptance of your manuscript will not be sent … until these [routine, disclosure] forms have been received…”
Lovely chat with a colleague I barely see these days.
Making headway on a bunch of other things.
Finally got to see the praying mantis nymphs.
Got to participate in the ‘vote for the name of said nymphs’ competition.
Had E tell me I’m the most annoying person in the family and he hates me, then have a meltdown about not wanting to go out for dinner/not wanting another trip in the new car/yes wanting another trip in the new car, etc etc, then was back to usual cheery self half an hour later.
Had to comfort a distraught A, who found out that the supermarket Harry Potter promotion has finished (before she could collect all the characters), and also did not want to go out in the new car again. She cheered up enough to read me a book on ‘Wonders of the World’, where she got to marvel at Stonehenge and we both got to internally shudder at the thought of walking across a glass bridge that is over 200m above the ground.
