Le Canal des Etangs

Today we cycled around the lac d'Hourtin which is the largest natural fresh water lake in France. It was a very pleasant 37 mile ride, almost all of which was on cycle tracks or roads closed to traffic in high season. At the southern end of the lake is le canal des etangs which links the Arcachon basin in the south to lake Lacanau and lake Hourtin.
In the extras we have two shots taken in the nearby lakeside town of Maubuisson. After the recent really hot weather, 27C is just perfect.
