Marquette Harbor Lighthouse

The stone tower was built in 1853 along with a dwelling but those structures deteriorated quickly. Congress appropriated $13,000 for a new light in 1865 and completed in 1866. Major renovations were made in 1965.

We didn't know that we had to sign up for a tour, so we just wandered around the area.

Tomorrow we are off to Wisconsin. I am grateful for the time we have spent in Michigan.
