Eagle eyed

This blip was taken on today's lunchtime jaunt to the park. The eagle also appears on Syria's coat of arms. In 2007, I spent a wonderful 10 days travelling around the country. Many people voiced concern at the time ... lone female traveller, Middle East etc. etc. I didn't even tell my parents I was going because I knew they would freak!

I was glad I ignored them all. It was one of the most rewarding trips, made all the more special by the warmth, generosity and hospitality of the Syrian people. It is heart-rending to hear reports of the destruction in this beautiful land, and I thought it was timely to back blip some images from that trip. For starters, here is one from Damascus if curious.
