Cutting Oats....

All go today.
The contractor combining more spring barley
Kev carting it home.
I spent the day charging round the country with the round baler.
Wee brother started cutting the spring oats with our old combine. Only a 13 ft header compared to the contractors 25 ft one,but like the tortoise and the hare,we get there in the end .
I took over this evening while he went away to check his calving cows. Stopped at 8 pm because as soon as the sun disappeared behind the Pentland hills the dampness came down. Also the alternator is knackered on the combine so there is no power for the lights or any of the gauges,so it truly is old school combining.
Back down the road at 9 pm to bring home the last load of barley and my Landrover ,which I had managed to lock with the keys still in the ignition this morning.
Aye,old age doesn't come it's self ,as the saying goes
