Road Chaos...

I was supposed to meet with Sue for lunch at the Rainbow and Dove in Hastingwood but instead spent nearly two hours stuck in traffic chaos. There had been and lorry smash and fire on the M11 at 5am that closed it southbound. At 11.30am I got on to the M11 spur at Fourwentways and half a mile along ran into two or so miles of stopped traffic.

The two carriageways were being merged into one and then directed off at the Saffron Walden interchange. An interesting way to spend two hours. Why on earth they didn't stop traffic trying to enter the M11 at Fourwentways?

I will not take any motorway trip in future without checking the traffic news for holdups...
