Bristly oxtongue?

Looking down while entering the allotment site this morning I spotted this bright yellow flower that “Picture This” informed me was likely to be Bristly Oxtongue. You may, of course, know different.

Another busy day with that visit to the allotment, some admin, apple juicing and grass cutting (grass?) being fitted into the daylight hours.

The flower was growing quite happily by the gate, between the wire mesh and the lever that is used bolt the gate closed. (That’s the duck billed ironwork at the top of the shot). Small, insignificant, minding its own business, doing what it’s programmed to do. It has its moment in the sun and was noticed.

Ah! And the Hover Fly? Flew in just as I pressed the shutter. A bonus.
