Bromeliad

This amazing plant, a bromeliad, is about a foot and a half across - in the middle was a little pool of water containing tiny flowers - the botanists among you will know more about them - and if you do, I'm fascinated to know - we went to a place called Hunt's Gardens in the lush fertile centre of the island - an amazing place which used to be a kind of sink-hole in which Anthony Hunt, a friend of an old boyfriend of mine, created the most amazing garden. Absolutely a must for visiting.
