Dereliction Reveal

As a visual image of climate change I found this impactful - both shocking and fascinating.  I have never seen the water level at Thrushcross reservoir so low, although I’ve seen the remains of the flooded village before. ‘Normally’ the water is up to the tree line on the far side of the photo.
The remains of the flax mill, which historically has stood partially in the water, and is currently several metres above it, is in extras. I’ve added the close up - and the long view where you can see it above the person wearing pink. The final extra was taken in a cold snap 18 months ago to show the historical normal water level
Yorkshire Water introduced a hosepipe ban on the 26th August - rain was forecast here this weekend, but it barely wet the surface.
A challenge to keep up with the garden produce here, tomato soup for lunch (we still have a glut and I’ve given plenty away) and blackberry and elderberry crumble to follow our roast dinner today - delicious
